Create an itinerary including Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
A World Heritage Site protecting a large proportion of the world's wild mountain gorillas, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest represents one of Uganda's oldest rainforests. Bordering the Democratic Republic of Congo and nearby neighbor to Rwanda, the park provides a home to a diverse population of plant and animal life, with one of the broadest ranges of vegetation in East Africa. Prepare yourself for a challenge if you go gorilla-tracking--although the sight of an endangered gorilla in its natural habitat will more than reward your efforts. If you're looking for something at a slower pace, the forest's 350 avian species provide ample bird-watching opportunities. Bring plenty of water and sunscreen. Before you visit Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, use our trip planner to discover what you can do and see there.

  • A breathtaking world heritage site with lovely weather and escarpments. The gorilla tracking experience is one like no other. The Batwa experience is one worth experiencing.
  • It was one of the best experiences in my life. We were just about 5 meters from the silver back. It’s a good idea to hire porters who are a big help. Everyone of the staff was wonderful.
