  • I recently visited Budongo Forest in Uganda, the largest rainforest in Uganda and the eighth (8th) biggest rainforest in Africa. It's a few kilometres from my ancestral home in Nyabyeya village Masindi and was blown away by the beauty and diversity of the ecosystem. The forest is home to a wide variety of plant and animal life, including chimpanzees, elephants, and numerous species of birds. The guided tour through the forest was led by knowledgeable and friendly local guides who were able to point out interesting plants and animals, as well as provide information about the forest's history and cultural significance. The trails were well-maintained and easy to navigate, and the scenery was breathtaking. One of the highlights of the trip was getting to see the chimpanzees up close and personal. The guides were able to locate a group of chimps and we were able to observe them from a safe distance as they went about their daily activities. It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Overall, I would highly recommend a visit to Budongo Forest to anyone interested in experiencing the beauty and wonder of nature. It's a truly special place and I can't wait to go back and explore more of what it has to offer.
