You can drive from Kigali to Ruhengeri in 2 hours. Other options are to drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Kigali in January, things will get little chillier in Ruhengeri: highs are around 27°C and lows about 15°C. On the 18th (Wed), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can drive to Kibuye.

Start off your visit on the 19th (Thu): get curious at Museum of Environment, contemplate the waterfront views at Lake Kivu, and then visit Kivu boat tours.

Getting from Ruhengeri to Kibuye by car takes about 3 hours. Other options: drive. Expect somewhat warmer evenings in Kibuye when traveling from Ruhengeri in January, with lows around 20°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 19th (Thu) to allow time to drive to Butare.

On the 20th (Fri), contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Butare catholic Cathedral and then examine the collection at Murambi Genocide Memorial Center. On the next day, steep yourself in history at The Royal Palace, take an in-depth tour of King's Palace Museum, and then see the interesting displays at Ethnographic Museum of Rwanda.

When traveling from Kibuye in January, plan for somewhat warmer days in Butare, with highs around 32°C, while nights are about the same with lows around 19°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 21st (Sat) so you can go by car back home.
