Mpumalanga travel guide
Hike through the world's third-highest canyon, and the only green one in the world; explore the world's oldest cave; and witness the diverse wildlife in the many reserves of Mpumalanga. This "place where the sun rises," as the name means in local tongues, features stunning mountain scenery, lush valleys, and charming towns with refreshingly cool weather. Mpumalanga's attractions draw crowds of visitors from far and wide: follow the trails of the 19th-century gold rush in old gold-seeker's towns, rappel down a waterfall, or just take a dip in the pools below after a hike through the rainforests.
