Hazyview — 4 nights

A gateway to the popular Kruger National Park, Hazyview boasts an enviable location in South Africa's lowveld, surrounded by a staggering number of both natural and historic sites.
Get in touch with nature at Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve and Elephant Whispers. Venture out of the city with trips to Graskop (Panorama Route & The Pinnacle Rock), Nelspruit (Jane Goodall Chimpanzee Eden Sanctuary, Sudwala Caves, &more) and Bourkes' Luck Potholes (in Moremela). There's more to do: tour the pleasant surroundings at The Elephant Sanctuary and see exotic creatures in open habitats at a safari tour.

To find maps, reviews, photos, and other tourist information, refer to the Hazyview online travel planner.

Cape Town to Hazyview is an approximately 4-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Cape Town in September, expect Hazyview to be somewhat warmer, temps between 30°C and 16°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 5th (Mon) so you can fly back home.

National Parks · Nature & Parks · Geologic Formations
Hike through the world's third-highest canyon, and the only green one in the world; explore the world's oldest cave; and witness the diverse wildlife in the many reserves of Mpumalanga. This "place where the sun rises," as the name means in local tongues, features stunning mountain scenery, lush valleys, and charming towns with refreshingly cool weather. Mpumalanga's attractions draw crowds of visitors from far and wide: follow the trails of the 19th-century gold rush in old gold-seeker's towns, rappel down a waterfall, or just take a dip in the pools below after a hike through the rainforests.
