40 days in Johannesburg, Windhoek & Cape Town Itinerary

Founded when gold was discovered in the area in the late 19th century, Johannesburg quickly grew into a bustling metropolis, South Africa's largest city and the region's economic hub.

Do some cultural sightseeing at Hector Pieterson Museum and Memorial and Constitution Hill Human Rights Precinct. Take a break from the city and head to Safaris and Horseback Africa. Explore Johannesburg's surroundings by going to Rustenburg (Sabai Jai & Zipline), Ann van Dyk Cheetah Centre (in Hartbeespoort) and Pretoria (Voortrekker Monument, Rietvlei Nature Reserve, &more). There's still lots to do: examine the collection at Apartheid Museum, immerse yourself in nature at Alberts Farm, contemplate the long history of Mandela House, and visit Maboneng Precinct.

Amsterdam, The Netherlands to Johannesburg is an approximately 14.5-hour flight. The time zone changes from Central European Standard Time to South Africa Standard Time, which is usually a 1 hour difference.
