In January, plan for daily highs up to 34°C, and evening lows to 20°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 18th (Wed) to allow enough time to fly to Johannesburg.

When in Johannesburg, make a side trip to see 7th Heaven Scuba in Krugersdorp, approximately Krugersdorp away. Spend the 21st (Sat) trying your luck at Gold Reef City. Fly from Kruger National Park to Johannesburg in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In January, daytime highs in Johannesburg are 33°C, while nighttime lows are 19°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 22nd (Sun) early enough to travel to Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Kick off your visit on the 23rd (Mon): take in the dramatic natural features at Ngorongoro Crater. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 24th (Tue): contemplate the long history of Olduvai Gorge.
