Located in the heart of the country, Namibia's capital city Windhoek receives a constant influx of tourists, in part because of its international airport.
You'll discover tucked-away gems like Safaris and Omeya Golf and Residential Oasis. The adventure continues: stroll through NamibRand Nature Reserve, admire the striking features of Christuskirche, stop by Wecke & Voigts, and browse the exhibits of National Museum of Namibia.

Groningen, The Netherlands to Windhoek is an approximately 28-hour flight. Traveling from Groningen in April, expect nights in Windhoek to be somewhat warmer, around 15°C, while days are much hotter, around 31°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 3rd (Tue) to allow time to drive to Otjiwarongo.

When touring Namibia's famous national parks and reserves, you can opt to base your trip in Otjiwarongo, a laid-back town boasting a number of attractions of its own.
Discover out-of-the-way places like Okonjima Game Reserve and REST - Rare & Endangered Species Trust. Take a break from Otjiwarongo with a short trip to Bambu Wellness Boutique in Omaruru, about 1h 30 min away. The adventure continues: tour the pleasant surroundings at Cheetah Conservation Fund.

Namib-Naukluft Park — 4 nights

One of the world's largest nature and game reserves, the vast Namib-Naukluft Park boasts sweeping desert and mountain landscapes, a diverse range of animal life, and the surreal Sossusvlei, a scenic saltpan sprinkled with towering red sand dunes and petrified acacia trees.
You'll discover tucked-away gems like Spreetshoogte Pass and Gobabeb Desert Research Station. There's more to do: take a memorable drive along Kuiseb Pass and take in breathtaking views at Sesriem Canyon.

Swakopmund — 6 nights

Nestled on Namibia's Atlantic coast and surrounded by the sand dunes of the vast Namib Desert, the resort town of Swakopmund enchants visitors with its distinct German colonial architecture and pleasant climate.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Dune 7 and Food Tours. When in Swakopmund, make a side trip to see Mola Mola Safaris in Walvis Bay, approximately Walvis Bay away. There's still lots to do: stop by Kristall Galerie, pause for some serene contemplation at German Evangelical Lutheran Church, stroll through Welwitschia Plains, and take in the views from Swakopmund Jetty.

You can drive from Namib-Naukluft Park to Swakopmund in 1.5 hours. In May, daily temperatures in Swakopmund can reach 30°C, while at night they dip to 14°C. On the 19th (Thu), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel back home.
