Step off the beaten path and head to Moholoholo Animal Rehabilitation Centre and 24 Degrees South. For shopping fun, head to Kingfisher Gallery or iNyoka Art Gallery. Enshrouded in lush indigenous forest and surrounding a scenic lagoon of the same name, the Garden Route town of Knysna has plenty to offer.
Get outdoors at Lawnwood Snake Sanctuary and Wilderness National Park. Do your shopping at Tiny Shop and Jandreart Studio. Get out of town with these interesting Knysna side-trips: Jukani Wildlife Sanctuary (in The Crags) and Parasailing & Paragliding (in Wilderness). Renowned as a premier whale-watching destination, Hermanus grew from a quaint fishing village nestled on Walker Bay.
Start off your visit on the 3rd (Mon): stroll through Stony Point Penguin Colony and then take in the pleasant sights at Hermanus Cliff Path. On your second day here, identify plant and animal life at Dyer Island Cruises, stop by Wine Village Hermanus, and then enjoy the sand and surf at Grotto Beach.
