Windhoek, Namibia — 3 nights

Located in the heart of the country, Namibia's capital city Windhoek receives a constant influx of tourists, in part because of its international airport.
Bring the kids along to Christuskirche and NamibRand Nature Reserve. Spend the 5th (Tue) spotting exotic species with a safari tour. There's more to do: play a few rounds at Omeya Golf and Residential Oasis and look for gifts at Wecke & Voigts.

Amsterdam, The Netherlands to Windhoek is an approximately 15.5-hour flight. While traveling from Amsterdam, expect much warmer days and somewhat warmer nights in Windhoek, ranging from highs of 31°C to lows of 15°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 5th (Tue) so you can catch the flight to Swakopmund.

Swakopmund, Namibia — 6 nights

Nestled on Namibia's Atlantic coast and surrounded by the sand dunes of the vast Namib Desert, the resort town of Swakopmund enchants visitors with its distinct German colonial architecture and pleasant climate.
Family-friendly places like Safaris and Kayaking & Canoeing will thrill your kids. Step out of Swakopmund to go to Walvis Bay and see Off-Road Tours, which is approximately 40 minutes away. Spend the 9th (Sat) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. There's lots more to do: take in the views from Swakopmund Jetty, browse the different shops at Platz Am Meer, browse the exhibits of Swakopmund Museum, and relax and rejuvenate at some of the top local wellness centers.

As one of South Africa's most popular beach destinations, the resort town of Plettenberg Bay comes to life in December and January, when the holiday homes fill up with domestic tourists and foreigner visitors.
You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like Robberg Nature Reserve and Knysna Elephant Park. Venture out of the city with trips to Tsitsikamma National Park (Otter Trail, Suspension Bridge, &more) and Knysna (Knysna Heads, Featherbed Nature Reserve, &more).
