Planned as the capital after Botswana gained independence in the 1960s, Gaborone quickly transformed into a bustling city and the country's commercial center.Escape the urban bustle at Mokolodi Nature Reserve and Khwai Concession. There's lots more to do: stroll through Gaborone Game Reserve, get great views at Kgale Hill, take in the spiritual surroundings of ISKCON Gaborone (Krishna Balaram Palace), and pause for some photo ops at Three Chiefs' Statues.
