Amsterdam, The Netherlands to Lilongwe is an approximately 20-hour flight. The time zone changes from Central European Standard Time (CET) to Central Africa Time (CAT), which is usually a 1 hour difference. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 27th (Mon) early enough to drive to Salima.

Fly from Salima to Likoma Island in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of car and ferry; or drive. On the 29th (Wed), you'll have the morning to explore before heading off to Dedza.

Dedza is the main township of Dedza District in the Central Region of Malawi.Dedza is located about 85 km south of Malawi's capital, Lilongwe, off the M1 road to Blantyre at a point where a trans-African highway from Johannesburg enters the country.At an altitude of 1590m it is the highest town in Malawi. You can fly from Likoma Island to Dedza in 3 hours. Other options are to drive; or do a combination of ferry, bus, and car. Expect a daytime high around 23°C in December, and nighttime lows around 18°C. On the 30th (Thu), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can drive to Liwonde National Park.

Plan for a bit warmer temperatures traveling from Dedza in December, with highs in Liwonde National Park at 32°C and lows at 29°C. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 31st (Fri) to allow time for the car ride to Zomba.

You can drive from Liwonde National Park to Zomba in 2.5 hours. Traveling from Liwonde National Park in December, Zomba is a bit cooler at night with lows of 25°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 1st (Sat) early enough to go by car to Mulanje.

Mulanje is a town in the Southern Region, Malawi close to the border of Mozambique. On the 2nd (Sun), take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mount Mulanje.

You can drive from Zomba to Mulanje in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can drive. In January in Mulanje, expect temperatures between 32°C during the day and 24°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 2nd (Sun) early enough to drive to Blantyre.

As Malawi's second-largest city, Blantyre represents the country's main commercial and industrial hub and boasts a dynamic array of food options.
