Trip Planner: Africa / Tanzania / Kilimanjaro Region / Kilimanjaro National Park / Mount Kilimanjaro
One of the world's most renowned summits, Mount Kilimanjaro attracts trekkers from across the globe, aspiring to reach its glacial peaks. With three volcanic cones, this dormant volcano holds the title of highest mountain in Africa, rising an awe-inspiring 5,895 m (19,341 ft) into the clouds. One-day tours let you walk the mountain's lower terrain and gaze up at some spectacular scenery. Experienced hikers can take on a larger expedition, averaging around nine days. The most popular times of year are the dry seasons (January through mid-March and June through October), as these afford better conditions and clearer vistas. Arrange treks through a tour operator. Make Mount Kilimanjaro a part of your Kilimanjaro National Park vacation plans using our Kilimanjaro National Park day trip planning website.

A once in a lifetime experience to climb the Kili. Was really worth it with a great group of guides. Loved everyday of it. As other people mention that give a bad review. I will tell some things about the Kilimanjaro. - NO, there is no WiFi… - YES, it is rocky and steep at some places. - YES, it can get really cold on the summit. - YES, there are toilets and NO they aren’t the cleanest. But what can one expect on a huge mountain at that altitudes. - YES, it can rain or snow and get windy. And finally, YES it is beautiful to climb the Kilimanjaro!
Climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in January 2022 on the 8 day Lemosho route with Ultimate Kilimanjaro. The route was very scenic, passing through a range of different landscapes. Summit day in particular was more difficult than the other days - we started hiking around midnight and the conditions were very cold and windy (~100kmph winds). However our group of 8 had four guides (August - the lead guide, Ewald, Godfrid and Thadey) and we felt very safe in their capable hands. On summit day, our team of guides went above and beyond to help us reach the summit - they helped with everything from pulling water bottles and snacks out of our backpacks, tying laces, adjusting headlamps to singing mountain songs and chanting words of encouragement to keep our spirits up. There were two hikers in the group that felt unwell from day 2, but the guides went above and beyond to help them (carrying their day packs, monitoring and conducting extra health checks, delivering food to their tents etc). It was comforting to know that had we been unwell, we would have also been well looked after. I highly recommend doing the Kilimanjaro hike and recommend the team of guides at Ultimate Kilimanjaro (and in particular the lead guide, August).
