Create an itinerary including Seal Island
Occupied by over 64,000 seals, Seal Island allows you to view the social interaction of these creatures like few other places in the world. The 2 hectare (5 acre) island also shelters many sea birds, which use the area as a breeding ground. The seals attract many great white sharks, which you'll have the opportunity to view in action if you're lucky enough to be there during one of their encounters. • Small island which is alot of seals it could be reached by boat, nice views and proud to be here
  • Seal Island / Duiker Island. First place to be visited today was Harbour Front and Seal Island at Haut Bay. Started early morning. Sentinal Mountain was visible throughout the route from hotel to Haut Bay. Some photos on the move. Hrabour Front is exactly what it says. The settlement on the slopes near the harbour front,The sentinal ul ntain and the front itself looked nice. Here we boarded Capsylo a ferry boat which was to take us to the Seal Island. Due to curiosity checked this name Calypso was a nymph in Greek mythology, who lived on the island of Ogygia, Departed for Duker Island. Popularly known as Seal Island. The island is so named because of the great number of Cape fur seals that occupy it. It is 5 acres in area and home to 64,000 cape fur seals. It was not too far and took about 10 - 15 mts to reach . The sea was a bit choppy. Gap between the coast at Sentinal Mountain and the Island did not appear too much and the young Captain David did great job of maintaining its position almost in the middle of the gap. On the way back he allowed us on the bridge. Prriti also held the helm. On return to harbour front did some browsing on the shacks selling handicraft.
