  • A very moving museum that tells the brutal history of apartheid but balances it with the optimism that South Africans have for the future. It is not advisable for kids under 12/13.

  • Very, very interesting and eye opening experience for us at the Apartheid Museum. We went there as part of a private tour and only allotted two hours. So, unfortunately we only made it until 1970 before having to depart. We recommend four hours to see everything included. We were a group of two visiting on a weekday so there was no lines, not very busy and no need to buy tickets in advance. We really enjoyed our time here and would recommend visiting when you travel to Johannesburg.
  • Must go to the Apartheid Museum! A wealth of history, so powerful and well presented. Tour guide is recommended. There are a few details you might miss otherwise. And the museum is very large, so the guide helps you move along a bit quicker without missing anything.
