Interact with majestic African animals and experience their intelligent, gentle nature at Elephant Whispers. Located on the banks of the Sabie River, the wildlife reserve sits surrounded by a picturesque bush landscape, suitable for taming, breeding, and training rescued tusked mammals. Once you reach the compound, you can enjoy many activities, such as going on an elephant ride through the savanna, as well as brushing, playing, swimming, and taking photos with the gentle giants. Make sure to visit in a smaller tour group so that everyone can have the opportunity to feed and stroke the elephants. The staff is very nice and accommodating. We only stayed for an hr. and that was all we needed. We wanted to see the elephants and know about them close and personal, and that's what we got. We got a lot of information about elephants without feeling overwhelmed and yet felt we learn enough to make us feel comfortable that we didn't waste our money. When we didn't think we understood, there was always a staff close by who noticed us, then he would ask if we understood, and if not, he would repeat or explain. We all had a small interaction with the elephant and took pictures. Maybe I would have liked to see the elephants moving more freely and see how they were, but for that, I would have paid to go for a walk with them as most people did. That was our choice. So overall, we loved it and feel it was worth the experience. ❤️

If you're in Hazyview, you absolutely must include an elephant interaction on your to-do list. The experience is so educational, the gentle giants are astounding up close and personal, you'll never forget nor regret it. The elephant handlers are so pleasant and knowledgeable, and make the interaction very personal, taking memorable photos and videos of your time together. Absolutely brilliant!
