Create an itinerary including South African Jewish Museum
Established in 2000 by members of the Jewish Diaspora, South African Jewish Museum remains part of a synagogue complex, built in 1905. The exhibits narrate the history of South Africa's Jewish community, with a special focus on their fight for equality and struggle to maintain a distinct heritage. In addition to the Jewish memorabilia, the museum also displays a large collection of Japanese miniature art. To plan Cape Town vacation without wasting time, ask Inspirock to design an itinerary.

  • A wonderful (but very badle presented!) netsuke collection and that's all of interest to 99,99% of the non Jewish people I think. Very high entry price too

  • Such a great experience. A beautiful museum Wel looked after. Lots of fascinating details and a reminder why we must never forget crimes of the past. Helpful, insightful staff.

  • Superb! Excellent history of Cape Town and the Jewish people moving here from Europe. Really well laid out and detailed exhibits. There is cafe and shop which overlook a very peaceful area in the middle of the complex.
  • Worth the visit. Get to learn so much about South African Jewish history. The staff were also friendly and offered to answer any questions. The holocaust museum across is also on the same premises. There are also nice cafe and restaurant on site and around the area.
