Create an itinerary including El Badi Palace
Erected in the 16th century, El Badi Palace was crafted from some of the most expensive materials of the period. The sultan Ahmad al-Mansur ordered the palace's construction in gold and onyx, with marble colonnades and crystal embellishments. Sadly, one of the sultan's successors looted the palace, leaving behind a brick skeleton that today provides a home for a population of storks. The scale, the story, and the storks all make this an important and evocative monument to explore. • This is a massive complex with some excellent exhibits and an incredible rooftop view. It's also an easy walk from Bahia Palace (which is more crowded) and located right next to the spice market...

  • Fascinating site 70 MAD entrance fee. No queue Must have been hugely impressive when the Palace was in use Plenty of things to watch and see in rooms And stairs up to a platform with views over the old town Highly recommended
  • Great place to spend a few hours exploring. Admission is 70 MAD and you can do a self guided tour. Many descriptions unfortunately lack an English translation. There are also various pieces of French artwork scattered throughout.
