Kampala, Uganda

Kampala enjoys the reputation of a modern city with a buzzing atmosphere--it also serves as a good base point for exploring the surrounding area.
Step out of the city life by going to River Rafting & Tubing and Lake Victoria. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Gorilla Bookings and Nile Reptile Park. Get out of town with these interesting Kampala side-trips: Itanda Falls (in Jinja) and Ssezibwa Falls (in Mukono). Spend the 5th (Wed) exploring at StarMount Safaris. And it doesn't end there: stop by Kampala Fair, take in the exciting artwork at Afriart Gallery, browse the different shops at The Acacia Mall, and make a trip to Wamala King's Tombs.

To find where to stay, other places to visit, photos, and more tourist information, you can read our Kampala road trip tool.
