Axum or Aksum is a city in the northern part of Ethiopia. Axum is known for historic sites, nature, and museums. Your plan includes some of its best attractions: explore the ancient world of Obelisk of Axum, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Chapel of the Tablet, take in the spiritual surroundings of Northern Stelae Field, and steep yourself in history at King Ezana's Inscription.

Adigrat is a city and separate woreda in the Tigray Region of Ethiopia. Step out of Adigrat with an excursion to Abuna Yemata Guh church in Hawzen--about 1h 15 min away. There's still lots to do: don't miss a visit to Monastery of Debre Damo and pause for some serene contemplation at Cathedral of the Holy Saviour.
