Spending time in nature is absolutely fantastic. Table mountain affords one the opportunity to do exactly that, and from so many different angles. For those hiking enthusiasts who like hiking, Platteklip Gorge is a reasonably easy hike in that there is no hard or serious climbing involved. If you are reasonably fit or if you are willing to take a little longer than the real fitness fanatics out there, then try this one by all means. The different views and plant life both along the way and from the top is absolutely worth the effort. Just a word of caution. If you don't have at least some level of fitness, then you might find this one a little difficult. The gain in elevation versus the distance walked is reasonably steep and for some it might be challenging. One can always take a few rest stops on the way or walk only one way and use the cable car the other. Whichever way you prefer, absolutely worth it. 👍😎

The perfect route for a quick hike up the table mountain. It took us a bit more than a hour to get to the top but it's not a hike for the faint hearted. It is not prettiest hike since it's just a way up and you look down a lot. Nevertheless, we enjoyed it and didn't experience as too hard. Definitely the better option than waiting in line for the cable car.
