  • Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden. The gardens are situated in 528 hectors of land on the slopes of Table Mountain. It is one of the greatest Botanical garden of the world. Also the only park totally devoted to preserving of indigenous flora and vegetation. It has over 7000 plant species from Southern Africa. It is a World UNESCO heritage site. Right at the entry gate there is a beautiful statue of a Cheetah hunting an Antelope. To give dramatic action look, sculptor has shown antelope at the end of a tree trunk and Cheetah at the base. Looks great . There is another beautiful statue if Cheetah sitting on a tree trunk. There are lots of small and big statues spread throughout the park. Walk through the park on well maintained walk ways is real pleasure and soothing. Walking over the swaying Snake bridge was a novel experience as you stagger around as if a bit tipsy ! It is a Tree Canopy curved Walkway constructed of steel and timber It winds and dips its way through and over the trees of the garden. it is a low-maintenance structure. The snake bridge takes the visitors from the forest floor into and through the trees and bursts out above the canopy, giving spectacular panoramic view of the surrounding mountains, Garden and Cape Town. Spent enjoyable time.
