Wild Horses of the Namib, Aus

#2 of 6 in Parks in Karas Region
Visit Wild Horses of the Namib for the chance to see one of the few remaining feral herds in South Africa. The horses roam in an area of sparsely vegetated plains on the fringe of the Namib Desert centered on a water hole and a trough at Garub. Watch these mysterious creatures from a hide. A landscape with varied colors provides minimal shelter to this feral herd, whose ancestors were brought here by Europeans. A few hundred horses share an area of 400 sq km (154 sq mi).
